~ poetry and verses ~

If I knew all the words
I would write myself in here
If you were all the colours
I would paint you like gold into my picture
THE LONG WAY HOME

while my pathway may be coiled
I see clear the destination ahead
bears nor wolves, cloud or rain to come
shadow my face from the warming sun
play out when my heart wants it
not held by an everyman’s rule
go slow I hear quiet, make haste to catch a wave
close my eyes and suddenly I see more
remember how it felt
brush wild flowers in the meadow
for dawn comes and they don’t last
so I’ll dance in joy with a butterfly
wonder if they knew me from the past
push on I have a journey
something beautiful, sometimes sad
embraced with life’s enthusiasm
well it’s all we’ll ever have
FREE

When we are no longer blinded or controlled by social conditioning, we allow our mind to open and expand. If we do this with the uninhibited heart of a child we become present and gain liberation. Once we accept ourselves as the cause of our reactions, we gain peace. The moment we hold gratitude dear, we gain happiness... this is free.
HAIKU

Light seeps through the trees
Still waters holding new life
Tremble in the breeze

Yearn, we embrace play
Unencumbered by this life
Free of median

Mountains draw us high
Enraptured hearts surrender
Inevitable
As emotions arise we can make a story about what it means
or just observe and let it pass.
We can accept things we are unable to change
and direct energy to the things we can.

All the while understanding the difference.
